WORD FROM THE PRINCIPAL
At the outset, I thank you all for choosing to be part of Viva College School (VCS). As your new Principal, this is also an opportunity for me to recognize and appreciate the priceless efforts you are making to cater for the educational needs of our daughters and sons at VIVA. I know that you all take your role as parents seriously by meeting the needs of our daughters and sons. This College would not exist without your immense contribution for which we as the teaching and non-teaching staff are extremely grateful. We owe it all to you.
On our part, I want to assure you that both in design and content, VIVA is structured to meet its Mission: “To produce a large community of leaders who make vital contributions to the economic, cultural and social well-being of the societies in the world…”. This therefore reminds us that we each represent just a single point in the continuous development of our school. Together we must build on the achievements attained in the last few years since VIVA started while at the same time continuing to lay down the groundwork for greater achievements of our successors.
As your Principal, my dream is to make VIVA grow from what it is currently into a nationally and internationally recognized school in terms of who we are and what we do. This will require us to work closely together with all the key stakeholders. I wish therefore to share three things I would like to work on with you as your new Principal:
⦁ A recognition of your role as parents whose role is so integral to the successful education of a child. The first and most important educational institution in the world is “the Home.” As parents, I recognize your important role in inspiring and being the primary educator of the young “Viva Ladies and Gentlemen” that you hand over to me. I will continue to count on you and please keep it up because we all know that these days “good manners and conduct” is “on life support”. As your Principal, I will simply build on the good manners, skills and discipline that you impart in these young “Ladies and Gentlemen”.
⦁ Secondly, in my new role as VIVA Principal I will strive every day to create an academic environment that invites ideas, opinions and willingly accepts criticism. Please feel free to share your thoughts with me for the betterment of our College.
⦁ Thirdly, I kindly request you to consistently commit to follow the progress of your child; promote and applaud the good in her/him. Please help the child to work on her/his areas of improvement that require development be it academic or behavioural.
We are living in a fast-changing world which requires us to be learning and reinventing ourselves all the time in order to remain relevant. I will need all your support if we must achieve our dreams and aspirations in making VIVA College a great school.
I am looking forward to working with you.
“Great Minds Shape the World” as our motto goes.
